On January 10, 2025, the City of Apopka reached an exciting milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for the highly anticipated Apopka Action Sports Park. This state-of-the-art facility, strategically located just north of the Fran Carlton Center, is set to transform the city’s recreational landscape and cater to a diverse range of action sports enthusiasts.
The $500,000 project is funded by the Apopka Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), using tax increment funds contributed by both the City of Apopka and Orange County Government (1, 2). “This is a great opportunity for the youth in our community to have this skate park in the CRA (Community Redevelopment Agency),” said Mayor Nelson.

“The park will bring an exciting new amenity to the Apopka community for both the youth and adults to enjoy. Bringing a skate park to Apopka is an initiative that has been discussed over many years throughout the Apopka community, and the Parks and Recreation Department is excited to be able to bring this park to life with the funding assistance and support of the Apopka Community Redevelopment Agency, City of Apopka Council, and Orange County Government.”

The facility will feature a custom-designed skate park for skateboarders and skaters, alongside a pump track that caters to BMX bikers. The project is spearheaded by the American Ramp Company, a renowned design and construction firm with over 20 years of experience creating skate and bike parks across the globe.
